Am I ready to Take the NCLEX with my Kaplan Scores

Published

Hey guys, I will be taking my NCLEX in 8 days and I am really anxious. I have been studying for 5 weeks, I used the Kaplan live online, and have taken 6 qestion trainers and completed 75% of the Question Bank with an average of 59% on QB. I have reviewed and taken notes on all the questions I have taken.

Here are my QT scores:

QT1: 56%

QT2: 59%

QT3: 53%

QT4: 58%

QT5: 55%

QT6: 62%

My readiness test: 58%

I have been doing an average of 100 questions per day but have kicked it up to 150. One of my biggest weaknesses is SATA questions? Are the SATA questions on NCLEX similair to KAPLAN's. What were strategies when answer SATA questions?

Your feed back on my scores are greatly appreciated. Are my scores good enough to be confident to take the NCLEX? Thanks again.

My Kaplan Qtrainer was ranged between 55% to 70%.

SATA is overrated. Test takers are scared of SATA because it's multiple answers for one question. I got about 15-20 questions, and they were easy, and the wrong answers were easy to pick up..

The strategy is, to know what the question is asking, for an example, symptoms for hyperthyrodism:

1-Cold intolerance (is this a symptom of hyperthyrodism? hyper means increase of body heat, so that means no, eliminate it.

2-Insomnia (people with hyperthyroidism have heat intolerance, when you're hot, you can't sleep because of increased metabolic rate and hyperactivity. One of the answers)

3-Diarrhea (think of this. If your body is hyper with increased metabolic rate, you'll more likely to have diarrhea than constipation. check this answer)

4-weakness (if you're metabolic rate is increased, you'll have energy and lose weight, not weak, eliminate)

5-constipation (check above)

What you need to know to answer this question is, the side and symptoms of both hypo and hyper hyperthyroidism and disease process. The, start by eliminating the hypothyroidism symptoms. Think of it as a regular question, not a SATA question.

and so on, so forth with all the questions.
