Am I the only one

Posted

Am I the only one who hates the new changes on the site? I’ve been following this particular board for a little over 13 years. I can’t seem to figure out this new board and how to see certain comments and responses. Maybe I’m just old school and don’t like change.

Hi - I have moved your thread to the Site Review comments forum. What can I help you with to better utilize the site?

Telling is the fact that some issues have been mentioned in previous threads regarding the changes, and those have not been addressed. At least I saw no responses. Acknowledgement of a person's comment, without the snide tone, is not too much to ask. Personally, after almost two decades of participation, I do not feel my presence here is important, if it ever was. So, I have chosen to look elsewhere. Unfortunately, the other options for nursing content on the internet have been squeezed out of existence.

Well, Randomnurse, "hate" is a strong word, but I do dislike some changes. However, there are some changes with which I am very pleased.

One change I've noticed is quite a decline in participants and new topics. Being online during the night use to be sparse, but now this site at night is almost like a ghost town.

I've already mentioned in another thread how much I enjoy the new editing capabilities which are above and beyond the old site.

I do miss not being able to have a listing of threads I started, however. The "Find Content" option is okay, but sometimes it doesn't update or updates in a non-chronological order.

Also, while I'm too lazy to stop complaining, this forum on site feedback doesn't always get responses from an administrator. I've had a thread on this forum going on for a week and a half and have not received a reply from an administrator that pertained to the topic.

Alas... there's always going to be some pain with growth. Such is life.

I don't always agree with your perspective, caliotter, but do respect your opinion. I see you as sort of a mainstay on allnurses; someone with a strong opinion who speaks their mind without being overly aggressive. I like that.

I, too, have looked elsewhere for nursing websites and found nothing of the caliber of allnurses. In fact, one site whose name I can't recall, had a thread bashing this allnurses' website. It was rather entertaining to read, bordering on being like yellow journalism.

I hope you stick around caliotter. You are one of the straws that stirs the drink!

For starters it took me 20 mins to find my original post just so I could read the replies. And I only found it because I searched my post title in the search bar. It’s just not as easy to navigate as the old site. Seems a bit overkill now.

One of the activity streams is called posted in. It’s almost like the old bookmarks in that it will pull up all the posts I’ve ever posted in- in chronological order.

OP, you'll get the hang of it.

Have you been through a big EMR roll-out or two (or 3 or 4)?

This is ?, lol.

I know others have their ways of doing things, but if landing on the home screen the yellow column @ the left margin contains all the major forum headings you would've been used to with the old site.
