I have worked as an LPN for over 20 years. Finally, my youngest is in college and I am able to return to school and am currently pursuing my ADN. Long, long ago I was a pre-med student - a decision made more by high school guidance counselors than me. I only completed one year of college before taking a year off and returning to a community college to become an LPN. Had there been PA programs back then, I believe that is probably the initial path I would have pursued. It is field I find very interesting. What would be the best way to pursue this career after getting my ADN? Should I get a BSN first or is there a different major better suited to the path to PA?

I think you should be talking to PA schools about that. We are nurses here. We know about nursing education ... but are not experts in the education and career paths of PA's. Any answers you might get here would be speculative or at least very limited in their foundation.

Talk to the PA schools that interest you and find out from them what the best paths are to to get there.

Good luck to you.
