Researching what certification test to take and I am coming up with lots of inititals. I get the NP-C and FNP-C but what is the CFNP and is there really any difference in the initials with the exception of which test you take.....will it make a difference in the job market?

And the -C or -BC is sooooo important because we would be practicing without being board certified. Shaking my head.
Your best bet is to find out what those in your area tend to use. I prefer short and sweet NP or on occasion CRNP.

I am not sure if CFNP is an official certification credential. I've never seen it used. AANP uses the NP-C credential and ANCC's credential is FNP-BC. Both are equally recognized in all the states.

I remember being told that in some states (Texas I think) you had to identify as RN,NP or something that indicated you were and RN.
