Does anyone have experience with Allegany College of Maryland online LVN/LPN to RN program?? I am also considering Excelsior, but I had started College Network and it was not for me, so now I am hesitant to Excelsior(even though they are not affiliated). Any suggestions...Thank you

I looked into it but there are soo many hoops to jump through it makes me nervous. On top of that I don't know anyone who has used the program. But if there is anyone who has something to say (positive or negative) it would be great to hear.
I agree it does seem to have a lot to do prior to even entering, but it also sounds like a legit program. However, I do not want to waste anymore money if it turns out not to be!!

This is an accredited bricks and mortar college and the program is accepted by the B of N in Maryland, so I have no reservations about it being a "legitimate" program; however, that does not mean it is suitable for everyone. (Me in particular!) As I posted elsewhere:
I have this program on my "short list" but their website says that they require 2 years of practice as an LPN and all pre-requisites complete before you can apply. Then you have to WAIT to find out whether you are admitted and spend .... It's 18 months in the program after that which is not bad but still .... lots of waiting and I am not gettin' any younger! I would love to hear from anyone who had had success with this program. It's a "find our own preceptor" program. I worry about what happens if there are complications with finding or continuing to work with a preceptor? Anyone able to share their experience? Thx.
If any current students or alumni come across this post, I would love to hear from you on your experience with this program. Knowing whether and how much you worked while in this program would also helpful to me. Thanks.

Hi Everyone I live in Bear DE and I am currently in the Allegany College LPN-RN program. The program is very challenging, if you stay on top of your assignments you will be fine. This program comes with very high standards so please don't think that you will start this program and perform mediocre, because if that is your approach then you need not waste your time. The program director is tough but she is fair. Your entrance exam is very simple it's just a LPN Basic Nclex style test I thought it was very easy I passed in the 94th percentile and the requirement is the 60th percentile, to get into the program. I think it's a great program only If you apply yourself. Know your computer. Good luck!!

Did you finish the program? What score did you receive to get into the program? I heard so many different ones. How long after you tested did it take you to be notified?
