Anyone successful complete lpn to RN through allegany college or in the nursing program how do you view your experience.
@Neon8rn2BClinicals are great! They do provide you with "pre approved" sites in different states. If you choose to find another facility it does take time to get those approved. STAY on your facility to complete paperwork AND on ACM to ensure they receive your paperwork.
@christina Martin You don't have to turn the NCLEX questions in. They just suggest doing those, but they should make it more known.
Mental Health was recently combined with OB/Peds, it's 3rd semester.
@Denisee79 Honestly, I feel like they don't teach the material, they just provide it. Your final average is based solely on tests. So if you don't do well on your tests, it's hard to bring your average up. This is the situation I am in. 😞
@MoM23LVN That's great! What do you feel is the hardest? Congrats on making it to the last semester. I'm anticipating acceptance into the 3rd semester so, I'm pretty excited. Do you wear white scrubs for clinicals? Do the nurses let you perform (I know each state is different)? Any other tips you can think of would be greatly appreciated? Hoping you pull through and get those last points that you need so this will all be in the past for you very soon!
@MoM23LVN Do you use other resources besides the PowerPoints? Like simple nursing or level up RN? They have some good straight to the point content. But everyone learn different so it may or may not help you. Do you have a white board? You just have to teach yourself like and read it out loud like you teaching a class.
@Denisee79 I wish I had someone teach me some of those things when I first started this journey...I would be in a better position! I was never a great student and have had a hard time learning my "style."
@Christina MartinNo ma'am...that is something that is not put out there, that I know of. The average is only based upon your theory tests only. You must receive a 77% or higher to pass. Amongst studying for the theory exams you have a lot of assignments, and depending upon the semester projects or group projects. You also have skills videos that you must perform that are part of a pass/fail clinical requirement.
Thank you for the information...I do watch Nurse Sarah. I have not heard of Nurse Nexus.
@Denisee79Catheter insertion, assessments on pedi and adult, CVC dressing change, IVPB. I think there are a few that I am missing.
@Neon8rn2BYes they are NCLEX style. A lot of SATA questions.
