I just want to be prepared. When I can finally test I will be testing in NY. Going to shoot for Albany. Anyone out there who tested in Albany---looking for info on where to stay close to the facility. Does EC try to guide you through this process or are you just left to find your own accomodations. That can be overwhealming if you don't live there already!
Also.....for those who have tested in NY--what site in your opinion was the best? I hear Albany is that's why I wanted to try for that one.
Thank you!!!

Hi, i stayed at the hilton gardeninn. to test at st peters. the hilton is actually connected to albany medical center. the room was nice. breakfast was awesome- on friday, because thats the only day i got to eat it. ive heard good things about AMC, but usually what u hear about a site is usually based upon the outcome of a persons cpne. i was a wreck about going to st peters because i didnt hear anything good about it. but i passed, so it was fine to me. i felt like they do want you to pass. others didnt feel the same way. i understand that st peters is closed in the winter. but with amc, you dont even have to go outside for the three days. good luck to you.:)
also, excelsior does recommend you reserve using their discount code, but it was actually cheaper at the hilton garden inn to book it online.

Idk about Albany, but Syracuse is amazing. I have nothing but nice things to say. I can send you a copy of my CPNE journal if you like. I passed there back in September, along with a group of 8 other people I met online (my study buddy, another local friend, an LPN from work, an LPN from here at AN and a few other friends I made from networking online), we all tested from the end of August til the end of Sept and came out victorious :-). The hospital is beautiful and so modern, the staff was helpful, the CA was instantly calming, the CE's were very kind and down to earth and the downtown Syracuse scene was great, kinda wish I got to stay another day and hang out!!
Where did you stay in Syracuse Beachie? Was it close to the testing site? Glad to hear you had a good experience there! I wonder which place is better Albany or Syracuse.
I stayed at the EC recommended hotel the Genessee Grande. It's like a $400 a night hotel but with the Excelsior discount it ended up being $109 per night, it was beautiful. It was within walking distance to the hospital and to Syracuse University and the downtown scene. You can pick Albany and Syracuse and see which one ya get assigned to :-) Lmk if I can answer any questions about Upstate for you!
