Do all nursing students wear white scrubs?

No. Henry Ford CC wear navy blue. At OCC we wore a white shirt and olive pants/jacket.

I wore blue at MCC, and the hospital I work at currently has some students in burgandy and some in greeen

Oakland University mandates white uniforms for SNs; traditional BSN students wear a patch on the right sleeve, ASD-BSNs don't. They may be one of the only local schools that do put students in white. U of D might use white uniforms too, but I'm not certain of that.

At my hospital, I've seen Oakland Community in sage green uniforms, Davenport in black (very eye-catching), MSU in white and green (nice visual pun ), and Macomb Community in royal blue (confusing as all get-out to us, as royal blue means "licensed professional other than nursing" in our dress code). Haven't seen anyone in burgundy, and ciel blue tends to be reserved for RNs no matter where you go.

Macomb CC used to wear smurf blue, I wish it was royal. Of course that would make them look like the transporters at my hospital :). I recently saw Davenport nursing students wearing black, which may look nice but now confuses them with respiratory therapists in my world .

Good to see I am not alone. I'm at Madonna University and we wear all white-shoes, scrubs, and lab coat with name badge and school nursing patch on our sleeve. I don't mind them because I'm just glad we don't have to wear those ugly polo's that some school's have too. My aunt thats a nurse said thats the way it used to always be done all the students would be in white for a couple reasons, one so that their C.I.'s could spot them easy on the floor and two so that all students would be easily recognizable to patients and workers. I think it makes sense anyhow plus they have so many cute ones now it's not too bad :)

UM-Ann Arbor wears navy blue with a patch on our left sleeve
