Hi,
I'm a UK Registered Nurse and will be moving to Calgary later this year with my family. I have 11 years experience. I'm struggling to figure out how the pay scale works, I have been told I would be placed on the appropriate pay scale dependent on my experience, how do they figure this out? Is it based on how long you have been qualified?
Thanks

AHS will need proof of nursing employment for this. They call it a "letter of portability". If you have more than one past employer you need letters from each. To figure out what step on the pay ladder you would stand on, divide your actual hours of work in your career by 1950 and that will give you an idea. I expect you'd be at the top of the scale if you've always worked full time.
