UAB AMNP Spring 2014

Hey everyone! I have found this site useful in the past and thought I would finally post on here. I have applied for UABs AMNP program for January. If accepted, I will be an out-of-state student, and it's going to be kind of expensive so I want all information I can get. If anyone is in this program or has spoken to someone in the program I'd like to hear some feedback. Also, I have heard mixed things about job outlook. Anyone have thought or experience with that? Any comments will be helpful! I also applied to the 2nd Degree BSN as a back up if I change my mind or am not accepted to the AMNP program.

I also applied to the AMNP and 2nd BSN programs at UAB for Spring 2014. I have also had some concerns about the job outlook for the AMNP students because I have heard it is difficult to get a good RN job without a BSN. Good luck!

hi jensen.laurac. in response to your concern. I went to the open house last week and a student voiced this concern as well. According to the Program Coordinator the only time you might run into that issue is trying to apply for RN jobs outside of Alabama and possibly Brookwood here in bham. Otherwise the other facilities should not give you a hard time. Hope this helps.

I'm not sure but I would think sometime soon so we can plan the trip there. Did you receive the email about interview dates if we're invited? Are you in Alabama or out or state? I'm getting anxious. I applied at the end of July so I feel like I've been waiting forever!

yes I did receive the email about the save the date for interviews. I live in Birmingham and Iapplied around the same time you did. Waiting is for the birds lol:sarcastic:

Hey eveyone!!! I also applied for the AMNP Spring 2014 Cohort. I heard that we should hear something before the 25th.

I hope we find out sooner than that since that is less than a week before interviews! I'm in North Dakota so I have a ways to travel.

Doesn't seem like there is a lot of activity going on in this blog perhaps this is indicative of the amount of people applying which will be great for us:)
