Headed to South Alabama for Summer Term

U.S.A. Alabama

Published

Hey everyone,

I am headed to the Mobile campus and starting this summer. I was wondering if anyone else was headed down there. I am entering the program as a prior degree student, and excited to get this journey started. Anyone have any feedback on this program, living area, want to throw in their two cents, or just want to post something about mobile or the university please feel free. I have looked through the other threads but nothing has really jumped out about this program. I will also answer any questions some of you may have if I can

If the new building is complete in enough time, and if you were accepted to the Mobile Campus, you will be at the new building. This building will be for all Allied Health Programs and Nursing!

You have been a lot of help! Hope I can run into you at the Nurses Orientation...........you already have "helping quality" to make a super nurse!:yeah:

I toured the Grove today, not too bad. Am going back tomorrow for one more look.

Will be checking it out today. BTW. Do you know if we(nursing students) will be in the new building or not?

Take Care!

KC

If you start Summer, then no. The new nursing building (and the new student rec center) will be opened in Fall.

KC, do you know if it's possible to select a roommate by major? It'd help to room with another nursing student.

 oops... i guess they changed it again. when i spoke to ms. bowman, the records specialist, earlier in the semster she did say that it would be open for the summer semster. it even says on the acceptance letters that the campus is "main campus" which i thought would be the new building, if not it would say "springhill campus" or "baldwin county campus". i am not sure anymore. i must check my sources again :icon_roll. man, i was just passing it today, thinking how nice it will be to start in a new building!!!

i am glad that i could be of some help to you kcallen! orientation will be here before we know it.:yeah:

Have you heard about USA's new simulators? I think it's just UAB and USA that have these new ones. Over 100k each. They sweat, react to injections, and one of them even gives birth! I'm not sure if yall will have them starting in summer or if they're going to wait until the new building opens.

On a random note, any of you play racquetball? I planning to start an intramural club down there with the new rec center opening. It's a cheap, intense, and game don't last too long--- perfect for nursing school's crazy schedule :D

Nah, had I not taken German classes prior to deciding on nursing, then I would be. I'll be transferring to USA in fall and hopefully starting the nursing program spring '10.

 Wonderful KC! I was talking to my friend that will be starting nursing school as well today. We were really wondering if that was true because we pass by the building all the time, and they have completed the building and everything. They started landscaping last week, so you know that means all the stuff in the inside is probably ready! I was told that during Finals week, which is the week of May 4th, the College of Nursing will be packing up from the Springhill Location and moving to the new building.

I know that the Baldin County campus have their simulators and I am sure we will have our own as well. I think that this will make our first semester be even more exciting. More room, new equipment, classrooms etc.

Keep me informed!!:yeah:

Awesome I can't wait to break stuff!
