Hi everyone I’m new to this website, and I wanted to ask for input on military nursing. I just graduated on December 12 and completed my BSN. I’m currently interested in joining the military. I’m debating between NAVY and AIRFORCE both of them are amazing at what they do. That is why I am really having a hard time deciding, that is why I am asking for your input. I am 33yr old, a mother of 2 and a wife. Which one would be better to join or is more family-friendly? I am well aware of all the sacrifices that need to be done and deployments. I just wanted to get more input from people who have been there or are currently serving. I really want to make sure I make an educated choice and find what’s best for my family. Thank you in advance for all your help and advice!

As a former Navy vet I would go Air Force. They do the best at taking care of their people.

Currently serving as a reservist so I cannot speak on behalf of AD. However, AF really looks after your well being and considers your family. Our deployments are shorter versus other branches.
As nurses, we all do the same job and often work together on joint bases. In that regard, there is no difference.
I considered all 3 branches before I committed to Air Force. I felt it was a better fit for me.
Hope that helps!

The general rule of thumb has always been that the Air Force treats their members better.

Thank you for your input! I was thinking of doing that too. However I understand that one has to have experience as a nurse. I’m a new grad so I definitely need to figure out that part.

I am currently a Navy Nurse. If want any information on how it is, feel free to let me know.
