Air Force Reserves Officer with MSN

Published

Specializes in OB, Med/Surg, PCU.

hello,

i am a new to this site and i actually have been doing my research but wanted to post on here and see what type of opinions i could obtain. i am an rn with my bsn and have been working in ob for the past 5 years and med/surg & pcu for the past 2 years simultaneously. i am currently 26 and i am looking to joining either the air force reserve or enlist for active duty...not sure which one yet! i am single, with no kids and not married so i really don't have anything holding me in the place i am in right now.

i am also in school to obtain my msn-ed and will be finished with that degree december 2012. i wanted to know what rank i could go in as with my msn instead of my bsn? also i wanted to know whats better between the reserves and active duty? after doing research and reading some information on here i see that the process takes about a year...is it the same for reserves and active? i also found after doing some research the pt requirements which look impossible for me right now but im in training so it should not be a problem for my in the upcoming year. what type/s of training and schooling is done for officers, because although i have been doing some research it is all confusing and i don't want a recruiter just to tell me all lies, i need the truth! lastly, i wanted to know if i should start the paperwork process now or should i wait until im finished.

hope someone can help, and if you can thanks in advance.
