california taxes working registry

  1. Is it better to file a 1099 or just use a w4 when doing registry? Im trying to understand
    tax burdens and benefits since im not full time with a hospital anymore and will soon be
    working full time registrty - RN in CA

    Im going through the same dilemma....Yes you initial get more money but paying taxes can be costly later...also with w4 the employer has to pay 1/2 of medicare taxes...if you file as independent need to pay all of it yourself...
