Aesthetic Registered Nurse Salary

I'm currently in the process of negotiating salary at my new full-time RN job. I have approximately 2 years of experience in aesthetics and clinical management. My new employer is requesting that I perform all aesthetic procedures, assist in managing the clinic, and assist in marketing. They do not offer benefits except 50% off cosmetic procedures. I'm curious what would be a reasonable salary to ask for?

I co-own (with my plastic surgeon husband) a medical spa. Our nurse injectors are busy with Botox and filler injections virtually all day every day. It wouldn't make sense for them to manage marketing. We don't have quotas, but our long term nurses who have developed a following do share in our profits. In addition to an hourly rate they are bonused based on productivity. If a nurse generates 100k plus each month in Botox and filler revenue, we want to be sure she feels she is compensated well. There is no way a nurse could be expected to generate that kind of revenue, develop relationships with clients and provide education to concierge staff about aesthetic nursing without the ability to focus on injections exclusively. If you are very new and unsure about your passion, try injections, lasers, skin care, etc. Perhaps you could ask for bonuses based on increase in productivity.

Mrs. Law,

I am familiar with you and your husband's medical spa through TV commercials, FB and the wonderful things you all do in the community. Your expertise in the field will be beneficial on AN!

Keep up the great work!

From a future nurse..

Salaries vary greatly by state for plastic surgery nurses. I currently work in Manhattan in a busy 4 surgeon ambulatory center. I function as a RNFA, nurse injector and manager. I am a salaried employee with medical benefits, 401k and a six figure salary. I earn every penny of that as I am available every minute of every day to the surgeon I work for. It's a phenomenal job, but I work hard for every penny! I am currently attempting to get into CRNA school. I previously worked in the ICU before coming to plastics. The surgeons I work for are extremely supportive of this. A CRNA in a plastics practice is extremely beneficial!

Hi Napgiver,

I realize your post was from three years ago but I am extremely interested to learn more about your path to becoming a RNFA/nurse injector/manager at an ambulatory center. I will be graduating from nursing school in Manhattan in a little over a month and hope to land a job in the ICU/OR. However, I ultimately want to pursue a career as an aesthetic nurse but am unsure of how to do this and was looking for some insight. Any advice would be greatly valued and appreciated!

i will be writing my nursing council exam this November and my next plan is to go for my specialty course which is anesthetic nursing but that would be in Canada, please give me clue on how to apply for it

Hello and welcome Omar esty,

You have posted in the Aesthetic Nursing forum.

Are you seeking a career in nurse anesthesia (nurse anesthesia, certified registered nurse anesthetist) or a career in aesthetic nursing (microdermabrasion, chemical peels, laser therapy, etc.).

Registered nurse first assist

I know discussion was started awhile ago but wondering if anyone can recommend a good place to get a certification in botox/fillers. When I do a Google search there are quite a few results and it's hard to tell which one is better than the other. I'm in the Cincinnati area but can travel.

Hello napgiver,

I am getting ready to take a course in fillers, botulinum, and lasers. I want to work for a plastic surgeon. My background is ER nursing. I have been sending out my resume to several different surgery centers ... how do I get their attention?

I want to work in cosmetic laser dermatology!!! It is just hard to break in to this field!!! Any advice?

Thx, Anne Marie

How do I get to where you are at because my end goal is what you have already accomplished.
