Hi
I am wondering of anyone has an opinion on terms of the contract:
the good (in my opinion ):
License/certification fees (full pay)
CMEs ($1500), DEA (full pay)
Malpractice paid for
3 weeks paid vacation plus 1 week of paid educational activity
health insurance (full \pay).
questionable:
2 year term of contract,
salary below local 10th percentile
monthly call with no additional pay
Stupid question: are these contracts negotiable?
Thanks in advance!!!!!

I don't know if they will negotiate or not, but I'd certainly ask and be prepared to outline why you think you should have xyz. I can tell you that my company will not negotiate with new graduate NPs (which I assume you are b/c of your user name) or new MDs out of residency. The new grad provider contracts are "as is" and the applicant can take it or leave it, they really don't care. They don't want new graduates anyway, so don't make it too attractive for them, lol. You can't be shocked if they say no, but it would be a shame not to try only to have a new colleague hired 6 months from now with better terms/benefits because s/he negotiated better!
Good luck.
Hi,
Thank you for tips re: negotiating. Yes, I am new grad... I will still try to negotiate and hear what they say. They did not tell me the number of patients I am expected to see during interview, but assured me that I will not be made overwhelmed and pushed beyond my limits. Some of my friends are skeptical re: this statement...
So, "Ask and you shall receive...." hopefully
thanks a million again,
