I have never worked at either of these hospitals, but I am a life long CA resident and grew up near Huntington. Huntington is an old hospital in a lovely area of Pasadena ( Rose Parade, Cal Tech) As far as I know they are well respected. My sister-in-law worked there a number of years ago in PICU and she loved it. UC Irvine Hospital is in Orange Co and used to be The county Hospital for OC. It's a teaching hospital and that's about all I know. Not much help, but I can guarantee that the weather is way better than PA! Good Luck.

You are in luck !!! I recently did 2 13 week assignments at Los Robles on the oncology unit. It is a nice place to work, the staff is helpfull ( except for that one LPN ), there are several points of intrest/beachs w/i driving distance for day trips, and most of all I would go back there. On the down side they have computer charting, and E-MAR ( bar code scanning for med admin.). Please let me know if you choose this assignment and let me know how everybody is doing. p.s. good luck no matter where you end up:)

funny you ask. ive worked staff at huntington and am leaving in pursuits of travel nursing next week. i LOVE the hospital. started working there as a new grad. its a large community hospital, and travelers are usually welcomed with open arms. i worked peds, but.. i know one nurse who works onco and loves it there as well. i was born and raised in southern cali,so... im just trying to spread my wings a bit.
