Psych Nurse From Canada to Australia?

Hello All!

Has anyone made the plunge and left Canada to work in Australia as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse? To be clear, I am a Registered Psychiatric Nurse as opposed to a Registered Nurse.

I've heard of people who have done this over the years, and was looking for some words of wisdom from those who have already made the trek. I'm just now starting to query a relocation, so any information anyone has re: migration, visas, experience required, recruiters, places to live, etc., would be greatly appreciated :)

Hey there!

I'm currently awaiting word from AHPRA on whether or not I can work in Oz. I'm a Canadian Registered Psychiatric Nurse not an RN. I know your post is a few years old but I'd love to hear an update on what your outcome was.

Just happened upon this thread while searching in seeming circles for information on how RPN qualifications would transfer to Oz. MitchRPN, did you complete the degree or the diploma? I feel like I can't find much specific to RPNs.
