hi people,

i just passed the phil nursing lic exam last dec 06.

i would want to apply for a ny nursing license for nclex asap but i dont know where to start...:o

where do i get an application form? (online would be much preffered.)

& what wud be the steps & procedures??

pardon my ignorance im just really confused....

many thanx in advance...

I just graduated this past March. I'm about to process my application for NY RN license. Should I file my cgfns verification and NCLEX at the same time? Or should the CVS be applied first, I am aware that both of these applications takes a long time so I need to work with it asap.

My second question is I have an on-going petition from my husband for US permanent residency, DO I have to take the Philippine board exam? Which of the licensing application; CVS or NCLEX needs my local board result?

I don't think NY requires local boards currently although that may change. I would start the CVS process first and then after a few months send NY application in. Will take approx 6-12 months to get eligibility to sit NCLEX. CVS is a service that is only for NY and CGFNS do all the running around for the documentation which is why it takes so long. They will wait for 6 months and then send what ever documents they have to NY and NY will then assess your file. If CGFNS get everything sooner they will send your file to NY sooner

hi everybody i really need an answer can anybody please help me does new york needs a local lic.?? coz i didnt take my exam in the philippines and im an american citizen....thanx

You need to check with the BON website or ask them.

We have the same issue, I called NY and they said it doesn't matter just pass a letter why you don't have the local license but they said it's not really a big deal.. i waited 7 months for all the process and finally take it this coming june 22. pray for me. BTW goodluck!

Has CVS been done? If so usually takes an average of 6-8 months to get eligibility from when you started CVS

hi, I've been posting questions about this topic also all over the board but somehow I ended up finding a thread specifically pertaining to my problem...I still don't know yet whether I am eligible for NCLEX with the NYSED but I will contact them tomorrow and hopefully I qualify...If ever I do qualify for the eligibility where do I go next?...do I apply to Pearson-VUE directly or do I still have to do something?...when will I have to complete a NYSED "Form 1"?...thank you in advance for the reply

Have you sent in a application form to NY BON? without that application form they will not look at your CVS. Until you get eligibility from NY BON do not register with pearsonvue, once you get eligibility register with pearsonvue and they will send you your ATT and you can arrange to sit NCLEX

I still haven't...out of all the confusion I'm getting, I didn't know what to do at first...I even e-mailed NYSED asking for my eligibility when in turn I shouldn't have. Is there a time period that/deadline I should have when passing my "Form 1"? and how long does it take for NYSED to process the application?

Until the BON receives application and fees they will not process anything. I would suggest you send form 1 and fee now and expect to wait a couple weeks to a couple months to get an answer
