Does Anyone Here Knows, How Long Will It Take To Receive The Nclex Eligibility In Florida?

I'm Ready To Send My Application This Week, And I Would Like To Know What's The Time Frame So I Can Schedule Everything Including My Formal Review. Thanks In Advance.

sorry for posting twice in a row....uhmm...i saw the link, but this one confuses me:

1)the board of nursing requires you to have your nursing education evaluated by an approved credentialing agency for examination candidates. request the nursing or healthcare profession & science course-by-course credentials review. you are responsible for all fees charged by these services. applicants are urged to apply first to one of the three approved credential review services below and when that process is completed to apply for licensure in florida.

what credentials should i send to the address in the link?

oh, i get it! hmmm...i passed the ielts exam already, so does this mean that i don't need their certificate? so all i have to do is pass my credentials to cgfns?

go with cgfns and get ces report as that can also be used in other states if you move. if you have already passed english examswithin the last 2 years then you just need to arrange for them to pass the results to cgfns/ichp as they are needed for visa screen certificate which you apply for once you have passed nclex. for the purpose of english language test and visa screen they will only accept results within 2 years if longer than that you usually have to retake the exam

Right

You need to get CES done with CGFNS You do not need to sit the exam. CES is an evaluation of your nursing transcripts. This needs to be done before you apply to Florida BON with your application form. Once CES is sent to Florda BON you send your application with Fee to the address in the link

Once you have been given the OK to sit NCLEX (that you meet BON requirements) you register with Pearsonvue and they will issue ATT once they are notified by BON that you meet requirements.

You do not need to pass english exam for the BON but will need to pass for visa screen certificate which does not need to be applied for until you pass NCLEX as the application is valid for only 12 months.

Hope this helps

Can i apply for CGFNS CES without taking the local board? I applied online but they were asking for my registration or license, sad part I dont have one. I just graduated and I didnt take the local board. It was last year that license is optional. I have no idea for this year. Do you have any updates regarding this matter? Thank you

According to their website you just check the appropriate box if you are not currently registered/licensed and explain why. So all you need to do is send letter explaining you have not taken local boards Link http://www.cgfns.org/files/pdf/apps/CES%20Handbook%20Web.pdf

_not currently registered/license or

_never registered/license

And to whom will i addressed the letter? Or I just have to write it here in the explanation blank?

Thank you

hi, it looks like you're also from the philippines. about your question, you won't be able to take the cgfns exam unless you have passed the local board. (for some reason, they need proof that you passed the local exam), you can either send a certificate which proves that you pass the board and tell them that your license will be "to follow".

*modified: ooops i'm so sorry, i guess silverdragon gave you the link already. i didn't take the cgfns though, that was according to my friend who took the exam just this year.

@ silverdragon:

thank you so much for your info. it really helped me a lot. uhm...one last question, i recently downloaded the file "ap_licensure-rn-lpn.pdf" from the florida department of health site, and all the requirements for eligibility needed are there. but there is this page (page 15 to be exact) that asks for my social security number...this may sound pretty stupid but, are they asking for my ss number here in the philippines or there in florida? though it would be quite obvious that i don't have an ss number in florida yet.

Hi. Im here in the US. They say that those who haven't take the CGFNS they can apply for CES (credential evaluation service) by the CGFNS. I was not talking about the CGFNS exam. Im sorry for the misunderstanding. I am just clarifying if I am eligible to apply for CES even without the local board.

If you didnt take the CGFNS, did you take the local board?

i would say you check the never registered/license. the letter could just be addressed to "whom it may concern"

they are asking for us ssn and you will not get that until you are in the us with a valid work visa, just leave that blank

hi silverdragon. I would just like to ask how percent sure are you that the CGFNS CES will evalutate my transcript knowing that I'm not a registered nurse in the country of professional education. Because I called them last time, and a representative told me that i cannot apply CES if I'm not a registered nurse. Im confused

there is nothing to indicate that your file will not be processed as long as you are truthfull and they are aware that you haven't taken local boards. There are many that haven't taken local board from the Phillipines and have ad CES done

That's a good news. I'll be calling the CGFNS CES this monday for final confirmation. I really hope I can start filing my CES nextweek, I'm dying to do something for my career. I have wasted so much time already.

Thank you and i'll keep you posted;)

@ SilverDragon:

Oh, thank you so much. Hmmm...I decided to apply my eligibility directly at Florida Board of Nursing.... would that be ok? or applying for CES at CGFNS would be better....

@ Tweetheart:

Oh, I'm sorry I got confused. It so happens I got a friend who's from a lower batch managed to process her CES at CGFNS...but since she's not a licensed RN yet, she said that she's not their priority...but I don't know if she got her eligibility though.
