[color=#573f37]cost difference of doing it your own versus doing it with an agency/consulting firm

[color=#573f37]rough estimates/more or less ($ aus dollar/1 dollar = 42 pesos)

[color=#573f37]doing it on my own:

[color=#573f37]$254 - assessment fee, registration to qnc

[color=#573f37]$245 - part a fee

[color=#573f37]$475 - part b fee

[color=#573f37]$100 - visa application fee philippines

[color=#573f37]$1000 - visa application fee in australia (to convert your short term stay business visa to long term stay business visa/need to have an employer to nominate you once you are registered in qnc - you find an employer to nominate yourself)

[color=#573f37]$800 - plain ticket

[color=#573f37]$1000 - lodging and food (australia) 1 mos. @$250/wk

[color=#573f37]$100 - mailing expenses

[color=#573f37] total = $4,265.00/p180,000.00

[color=#573f37]not including review materials, follow up of papers, review for ielts and exam fee, and medical check up.

[color=#573f37]if you have questions with visa application hire australian immigration lawyer/agent.

[color=#573f37]ielts = p15,000.00

[color=#573f37]medical check up = p8,000.00

[color=#573f37]immigration lawyer/agent fee = p 30,000.00 (more or less)

[color=#573f37]incidental/operational expenses = p3,000.00 (more or less)

[color=#573f37]if with agency:

[color=#573f37]$8,500.00 / p 365,000.00

[color=#573f37]includes everything except medical check up and ielts

[color=#573f37]cost difference:

[color=#573f37]-180,000

[color=#573f37]total = p 180,000.00 / $ 4,300

hi, how did you come up with this? did you know someone personally who actually did this directly? thanks.

Nope, not yet. I have been researching the net and I come up with this tentative expenses. The big stumbling block would be the review materials because the nursing in the Philippines is different from Australia (i will post some some topics that i found from a another thread). Second the employer who is willing to nominate you once you are registered QNC nurse.

I'm having second thoughts of doing it on my own because of such circumstances. I don't know if I'm going to do it on my own or just ask the help of the agency for that matter. I'm afraid because there is a lot of scumbag agencies in the Philippines, hope not this agency is one of them.

To andy's mom:

I have been reading your past thread messages and ka batch pala tayo. I just also past the June 2008 NLE exam. What location mo sa Phils? Ako I'm down here South of the Philippines. You will be going to Australia for bridging program? What territory did you applied? I'm planning to apply in Queensland. What is bothering me is the cost, I inquired here kasi for NEW Zealand, then the agency only ask for about 65T for their services and that would be a big difference to 180T services for Australia. I'm willing to pay pero they have to make true to their obligation. I'm researching for persons pa kasi who availed of their services. May kakilala ako actually ahead sakin sa school. Nandoon na sya, I have to contact here pa. I will email you kung makausap ko na sya. Thanks for replying

To andy's mom:

I found this in another thread. This topics you have research if you will doing it on your own. (Queensland)

4. Legal Issues in Nursing

5. Ethical Issues in Nursing

6. Cultural Issues in Nursing

7. Critical Thinking and Clinical Decision Making

The Australian health care system is made up of a number of interdependent components including three levels of government, health care professionals and other health workers, funding bodies and insurers, private health care providers, charitable and religious organisations and community groups.

* Health Care Provision - Who is Responsible for What?

* Health Care Funding Arrangements Public & Private

* Waiting Lists Elective Surgery

* Regulation of Health Professionals

* Health Insurance Medicare

* Managed Care

* Consumer Rights

* Commonwealth,

* State and Local Levels of Government

* Casemix Diagnostic Related Groups

* Health Rights Commission

* Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme

* Primary Health Care

Knowledge required by Queensland Nursing Council if you want to skip the Migrant Bridging Course and just take the Challenge Test.

You will need to know at least:

1. The responsibilities of the Commonwealth Government in funding/providing health care and how this differs from the Queensland Governments responsibilities.

2. The responsibilities of local government authorities (Councils and Shires) in relation to health care.

3. How health care is funded in Australia.

4. The role that private health care providers, charitable and religious organisations and community providers play in health care in Queensland.

5. The rights of health care consumers.

6. The processes that exist to protect health consumer rights in Queensland.

7. The foundation principles of primary health care.

*** In Queensland you can take the Competence Assessment Service, Challenge Test if you believe that you have a competent understanding of the Australian health care system

IF

(a) you believe you already have a thorough understanding of this topic and how this relates to health care and nursing;

OR

(b) you believe you will have a competent understanding after reviewing recent changes, you may like to consider the Competence Assessment Service, Challenge Test as your preferred pathway choice.

This is a suicide mission to all foreign trained nurses if immediately taken without further study.

I knew someone from this forum also, we exchanged emails and are constant texters already. He availed the assistance of an agency, he passed Part A and he is just waiting for his visa to take the Part B in Australia. My husband and I, attended the free seminar in Malate, and I think we will go for it. I am reviewing for IELTS now.

The review materials will be provided by the agency since they done the process several times. You do not need to do research anymore.

Maybe we are taking about the same agency. Can you email me or i will email you na lang. I have lot of questions pa kasi. Thanks

Hello.. do the agency require experience or is it okay for inexperienced ones too? I'm still thinking if I should give this assessment a go or just apply for uni and study again.
