So I applied for an RN position with the VA and about a month ago got the electronic email saying I was qualified and that my information was being forwarded to the hiring authority. I know the process can take a very long time and I just have to wait for now. But my question is, since applying to the VA I started a new job. Meaning, the current employment info on my application is no longer correct. I am still PRN at my old job, but my new info isn't listed anywhere. When in the process does the VA contact references? Should I let my former manager know about the possibility of being contacted? I know there are threads about the VA hiring process but there is just SOOOOO much information and I couldn't find an answer to this specific question. Thanks!

I don't think it would hurt anything to let your previous manager know your intentions with the VA and that they are listed as a contact on your application (especially since you are still there prn if I am reading that right). I wouldn't worry about listing your new info since it all occurred after you submitted the application. If you interview, certainly come prepared with an updated resume.
Thanks for the reply! I wasn't sure if there was a specific timeline in the hiring process when they contact employers/references.
