Hi all. I have an interview at a GI clinic for a phone triage position. I have experience on an inpatient surgical oncology unit (fresh trachs, tons of drains and drips) and inpatient hospice as well as home health infusions. Any advice on the type of interview questions I can expect?

Expect to get a lot of calls about prep in general and familiarize yourself with every different prep format and instructions.  I worked in GI and 75% calls where questions related to their prep.  Get very familiar with diverticulitis flares and symptoms that require prompt treatment and care.  Its been a while but those were always my biggest calls that needed attention right away.  I would ask if you will be triaging calls for the practice in general or just for the outpatient f/u post procedure - will make a big difference in what you will be addressing.

@lpn164 one of the major services on my current floor is colo-rectal so we see a lot of UC/crohns patients so I feel pretty comfortable with that area. Any specific questions they might ask in the interview for this position?
