Premiere Nurse-led Care in Germany ;-)

  1. Hi there,

I am really excited: my project in nurse led care is going to be put into practice tomorrow
I started my job as NP last year in an University Hospital in Germany - and now it gets very very very serious.
    This is soo exciting!
Actually I am the only NP in the whole clinic and my job is to implement NP on a pilot project/ward. Yes, I know, in the US or UK, NP are a normal part of clinical staff - here in Germany it is not - but I am working on it
I would like to read about your experiences with nurse led care

    So long - thank you!

Not exactly sure what you mean. I work in heart failure at an NP-run clinic. I know that there are differences in scope of practice for NPs in different countries.

Perhaps you could clarify your role such as your patient population, disease process, etc?

    Best wishes!

Here in Germany nurses don´t study. They are working in the hospital and have about two days of professional school a week. After 3 years the vocational training ends with an exam.
As a "not academic profession" we are quiet low on the totem.
