So I started a new job today. It’s for the adon of a long term facility. During general orientation, they happened to throw in that I would also be the infection control nurse and the compliance officer. A large part of my job as the ADON will be education, part of new hires, mandatory, etc. As well as employee health records. When I took the job, I was under the impression this was for an ADON position which I figured was for education & employee health mainly. I settled on a salary that I felt was acceptable for this position. (Although I was making more as a nursing supervisor elsewhere) Do you think now knowing I’ll have more responsibilities there is a need for renegotiation of my pay or is it too late for that? I don’t feel they were completely transparent about the job until I got to orientation on what the actual job responsibilities would be. Should I wait it out and try to renegotiate after 90 days or just deal with it now because I’ve already signed the paperwork and took the job?

If you've accepted and signed, unfortunately you're stuck. LTCs are good about sticking those extra duties on ADONS and CECs, and the print always includes 'duties as needed' or something along those lines.

Yea, you’re right. There’s always that extra sentence at the bottom that says that! A bit shady, but I guess my own fault at this point, and something I’ll have to deal with

You'll be fine. If it ends up being horrid, start looking for something else. But good luck, I hope it works out okay
