Hey everyone! I'm applying to my CC's ADN program for Fall 2018, and I was wondering what kinds of expenses i should be considering, aside from the obvious tuition and fees for college? This is what I have researched on here and gathered:
School:
-scrubs, shoes, stethoscope, pen light, medical scissors
-study guides and medical dictionaries
-gas (to/from school and clinicals) and other vehicle expenses
-parking and lunch? for clinicals
Other:
-rent/bills
-occasional eating out or fun
I'm not looking for exact amounts that you guys have budgeted, mostly because i've found that everyone is paying vastly different tuitions or gas, etc. I have been fortunate enough that i saved up about $30k for nursing school in the years that I've been working, and i'm looking to set up a CD ladder, and set them to mature every quarter that I need to pay for my expenses. I'm just worried about being caught off guard with expenses that I hadn't considered, and running out of money!
Anyway, if there are any other expenses that you guys have found during nursing school, I would love to hear it!!!

Be sure you have renter's insurance. We just had an apartment fire here in my town, and almost none of the displaced families had this. Ugh- it's cheap and easy to get.
Good on you for saving and planning ahead!
