Admitting a med error on Facebook??!!

An RN that I graduated with, recently went on Facebook and admitted to a med error. And then gave details.

Myself (and one other person) cautioned her not to do this, so she erased this status. But she still continues to "talk"about the 'crazy' psych pts she works with. It's awful, I hate that she does this.

Ever hear of anyone else doing such a thing?

I'd love to hear other people's experiences/opinions on this.

This acquaintance of yours is heading for a very unpleasant conversation with management. Wow. Employers may eventually take a legal beating for trying to dictate what employees may do during their off-hours, but revealing details about a specific patient's med error on Facebook is wildly inappropriate and indefensible.

Not to mention just plain, good old fashioned STUPID.

Wow! I am one such "oldest person in the graduating class", and I would NEVER do this! In our town, at least 5 people lost their jobs last semester for talking about work on FB, and one student was kicked out of nursing school FOREVER for posting about her Psych rotation clinical. I agree, a trainwreck is on the way; stand far, far back!
