When you completed your preceptorship in Acute Care, was your preceptor an ACNP or an MD? Was it in just ICU or did it cover more like a hospitality role? Thanks in advance for any shared experiences :)

I haven't started my program yet, but it can be an NP or MD. It can also be an FNP, *IF* the setting is appropriate. They would like us to use internal medicine for our health assessment class, and then for the other clinicals, choose from hospitalists or specialists, but the time must be inpatient.

I did a hospitalist role with a MD for one of my rotations.
I did an ICU rotation where I was technically with a NP but it was a teaching hospital so I spent as time with MDs, residents, fellows and NPs.

I have a feeling most of my preceptors will be MDs, I know personally 0 ACNPs in my area and for the most part acute care (especially specialty areas) is MD driven.
I have an MD hospitalist lined up for my first health assessment clinical.

Double check, but our welcome letter for that assessment class says it has to be outpatient for that course :/
