Hello all.

I am currently a home health nurse and will be making a transfer to hospice case manager. I am a firm believer in solid educational foundation and would like to get a certification/accreditation in hospice nursing.

Can you recommend an educational institute/course of study that would equip me in this field?

Thank you for your time.

A nurse can test to become a Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse:

CHPN

"To be eligible for the HPCC CHPN® Examination, an applicant must hold a current, unrestricted registered nurse license in the United States, its territories, or the equivalent in Canada and must also have hospice and palliative nursing practice of 500 hours in the most recent 12 months or 1,000 hours in the most recent 24 months prior to applying for the examination."

And this is the practice guide, the textbook or outline if you will for the exam:

Core Curriculum for the Hospice and Palliative Registered Nurse, Fourth Edition, 2015

Item Detail - Core Curriculum for the Registered Nurse

Best of luck.
