Hello all,

i just accepted a new residency position with the start date of March 2020 for the RN pay rate on the current contract. The hospital’s union is currently negotiating a new contract and reached a tentative agreement proposing a 4.5% pay increase for January 1, 2020.

My question is, when I start my new position next year, will I be receiving the pay that I accepted on the offer letter, or will the pay automatically be adjusted to the new contract term? I am new to the nursing union negotiation so I am not sure how this will work out. Thank you for your insight!

I'm pretty sure you'll start with the new negotiated contract rate.

But check with your union rep.

I'm pretty sure you'll start with the new negotiated contract rate also. But to be 100% sure, like FolksBtrippin said, ask your union rep.

You should get the new rate but if your hospital overlooks it get up with your rep. The hospital will back pay if they screw up.  I have 12+ years as a Teamster.
