Accepted with honors admission!

Published

Hey folks,

This afternoon, after a long, stressing day consisting of trying to email my resume to as many places as possible (I've been out of a job for over a month now), I received some news I've been waiting to hear for three months. I got accepted into nursing school! The school even offered me Honors admission, which just means the world to me!

I applied to nursing school a few months ago after researching the healthecare industry for a little while. I liked what I read and I prayed to God to help me do what it takes to get into a program if this is what I'm meant to do...if not, then I'd remain in the classroom (I was a middle school teacher beforehand...if you can survive teaching middle schoolers, you can survive anything! Hahaha :lol2: ).

Well, like I said, I got accepted! The deadline for sending in applications for my entrance term is still a few weeks away and I've already been accepted. Only 70 people get accepted each term--and considering the school is in a large city, I'm betting hundreds applied. This takes a HUGE weight off my shoulders! I think about it and I still get a little tense since I'm walking into the unknown, but I am so glad to see this day. I might even frame this acceptance letter!

To those of you--young and old--who are considering going into the field but think you may not be qualified, don't give in! I have yet to take A&P....I'm trying my darndest to take at least the first section of it this fall (I enter the program in January). I'll bear the consequences of taking nursing and prereq/coreq classes later. You won't know if you got in unless you try. I did and now I am probably the happiest person in North Carolina! To those of you who are trying to get into a program, I wish you the best--we're all hard workers and we all have a passion to help others. Otherwise, we wouldn't have even considered the field. That's what it's all about. Don't give up!

I look forward to reading more stories and sharing frustrations and good things when the classes kick into gear. Nursing school, here I come! :balloons:
