Have you looked into Southern Westchester BOCES?

Check out Monroe College.I believe they have a class that starts every January. Sorry, but I didn't know accel LPN programs existed. I thought it was only RN acc programs in existance. Also check out http://www.cnetnurse.com and click on the NY LPN link. It is tuition free, but the class won't be until next Sept. GL!

I have not heard of an accelerated LPN program, either; I have heard of accelerated RN programs. Most practical nursing programs last from 9 to about 18 months. Because the LPN position is truly an entry level nurse with practical knowledge, they have to learn from the ground up; basically because many do not come in with previous experience outside of being a CNA, and there is a clear difference between those duties. Bronx Community College has one that I am aware of, but it is very competitive. Make sure your grades are really up there to enter; nothing less than B+. Good luck!

I say "get it where ya fit in"...Try Monroe, see if you can get in and decide from there if the tuition is worth it.

I have a friend that will be entering into Monroe's LPN program. She didn't mention price, but I think they also have an LPN to RN transition program. You may be better off there especially if you plan to become a Registered Nurse. Good luck!
