ABSN UMASS Amherst 2016-2017 cycle

Hi Everyone!

I wanted to start a topic that everyone could post on about their progress in the application process. I know we're all excited to hear back from UMASS nursing, so lets get something started here!

I personally applied on January 15. I went to UMASS to drop it off by hand to make sure everything got there on time. When i dropped off my application they told me the actual application was due on the 15th and all other materials could be submitted up to Febuary 1st. I did read in previous years threads that we receive an application complete emai. Has anyone received theirs yet?

Hello! I sent my application in by mail on January 2nd and received an email stating that my application was complete a few days after. I have an in-person interview tomorrow morning, which I am both nervous and excited about! I'm trying to not overthink it, but I am working on being prepared as well. Umass Amherst is my first choice.

Wow that's really fast! I haven't gotten my application complete email yet. In suprised they're doing interviews already. Last year it looks like they started second week of February. When did they contact you about setting up an interview?

I think the deadline was Feb 1st last year (as opposed to Jan 15th this year), so it looks like they are a little bit ahead of last year's schedule. I just read all of the posts from last year's Umass Amherst applicants to get a good idea of the waiting/interview process :) I received an email on Wednesday inviting me for an interview. I was really surprised, I thought it would take a lot longer for them to respond! Maybe they are still processing applications, I bet they have a ton to go through. Probably a good thing that you submitted it in-person, though. Being patient is difficult in times like these!

Hey everyone! I applied to Umass back in October and just had my interview a few days ago! They told me I should hear a decision from them in about 4-6 weeks. I didn't know a whole lot about Umass when I started the application process but as I had time to research the school and the program I really started to like it more and now it's one of my top choices. I can't wait to hear from them again!

Hello everyone, I put in my application pretty late, so I most likely won't receive an email about scheduling an interview until later on. I applied last year and was waitlisted, I've brought my GPA up drastically and acquired more patient care experience since then. This year I'm going to do the in person interview instead of the "Skype" type one. How was everyone else's interviews so far?

I believe theres two similar threads about the ABSN UMASS '16-'17 cycle floating about this forum which might get confusing but..just an fyi.

I interviewed about a week ago and I think it went okay. There's always that "I could've answered it better with this response or example" post-interview feeling but what's done is done. I was reading last years thread and most applicants heard back with acceptance letters almost a week after their interview which is making me super anxious because I'm past the 1 week mark. But the professors who interviewed me said we will be hearing back in 4-6 weeks.

Good luck to you too!! My interview is tomorrow, I'm nervous about it but still confident.
