A Little ER Poem

A little peom I wrote after a trying day in the ER and feeling a little blue. To all of you ER nurses this one is just for you.

The Drug Seeker ( or for the politicaly correct a 10 on the pain scale )

So on the pain scale you rate your pain a ten.

Seems the last five times you were in this ER your back was killing you then.

Oh, I see. This time is worse than before.

So if you don't get Demerol then you will be cussing, screaming and head for the door.

Now lets see you are allergic to any and everything.

If it is not a Narcotic it will not work on your pain.

You are in luck Dr Candyman is here today.

You will get the Demerol, just like Burger King, have it your way.

Now you complian the dose is to low and your pain is back again.

It has worn off, you say with a smile and a grin.:wink2:

Time for Dilaudid. The small stuff will not do.

If it's not 1 to 2 mg as always you will threaten to sue.

Now I have my fix, I mean my pain is controlled.

Time for me to leave you now, time for me to take a stroll.

Since you will play my game, I will be back.

I know the ER's that deliver, you can bet that I keep track.

Now you have a nice day, I will see you soon.

You are on my A list as long as you keep playing my tune.
