Today on her show, Katie Couric paid tribute to the nursing profession by saluting nurses across the country. Snippets from the documentary "The American Nurse" showcased the exemplary care nurses provide not only in hospitals but in non-hospital settings as well. These dedicated nurses truly make a difference in the lives of the patients they treat on a daily basis.

Thank you Katie for honoring those who dedicate their lives to helping others and for highlighting the important role nurses play in the country's healthcare system. Registered Nurses are definitely "heroes who heal, inspire and save lives" and I am extremely proud of what I do and who I am. I have chosen the best and most rewarding profession in the world!

This!! I have thought this since I met my first nurse at age seven, members of your profession have always been there for me and really impacted my life. Many of you are so humble about what you do. I will be forever grateful for nurses and the work that they do. Thanks for doing what you do nurses!!
