hello,
is anyone out there waiting on amarillo college acceptance letter for spring 2010?
the nursing advisor told me that around dec. 21st they'll mail them out. i can't wait. . .too long of a wait
i wonder how many people actually applied? i know they said, unless they changed, that they were going to get 130 students for the spring.
if any of you know anything, let me know.
good luck!

Yes, the wait is long, but if you have any kind of criminal record, it will be even longer than you think. I got accepted around the 21st of last year, but the letter said the acceptance was conditional upon a background check by the clinical sites associated with the school. No big deal, I thought, because I have an arrest, but for a very minor incident. Well...I called every week to see if I had been approved yet, and the answer was always no. I was a total wreck. I didn't find out if I had been approved until two days before Boot Camp (which is mandatory!). And that's how it was for all of us. So, just something to keep in mind if you have a record...
I am pretty sure they have my name on a list of "crazed nursing students to watch out for" down at the office - I called so much! I have a friend who's name is probably on it, too.
well, i am glad you got in especially if it was something minor. i don't have nothing in my record, except speeding tickets, but they're all paid. the wait is now less than two weeks, so i guess i can wait. i am glad i am able to put it in the back of my head and i am not stressing over it. which semester are you going to now?
Well, then you are lucky you don't have to worry about it. That two weeks before you get the letter is a long enough wait :).
I am now entering Level II ....we get to learn how to start IV's, and draw blood. And we get to go to the OR in clinicals, and we have OB. I'm so excited!
well, i can't wait to start with clinicals. i think that's where all the exiting stuff is, rather than in a classroom. good luck next semester and wish my luck!!
Clinicals are great. They are better than I thought they would be. They are also frustrating because every clinical instructor wants something different and by the time you figure out what they want, that rotation is over and you have toi move on to another one. Oh well...
Thanks, and good luck to you :)
