A&P tips

Published

Hello, I am taking A&P1 this semester and would like some tips on studying, and how to get the best grade I can,and help would be much appreciated.

Specializes in Emergency Room, CEN, TCRN.

For the lecture portion of the course, I downloaded an app to make flash cards. I made cards for every bolded or italicized concept in the chapter as well as the key points and questions at the end of every section. With it being on my phone, I used the app to study wherever I was I had downtime, like waiting in checkout lines, in the bathroom, or whatever.

For the lab portion, my instructor provided a link to a couple of powerpoints for the bones and muscles which were pretty much animated quizzes. I liked them so much that I made my own for all the other organ systems. Like the flashcard app, I used keynote on my iphone and would play them over and over whenever I had downtime. PM me if you want a copy of them.

I earned an A in A&P1. I had a study group that we would meet every week, to go over information prior to a test. I bought an anatomy coloring book and I would use that to get a knowledge of either the skeleton or muscle system. I would then put the colored diagrams around my house to study, whether I'm in the kitchen, living room or bedroom. I would also use flash cards to learn more in detail of where something is on a bone or the different muscles in the arms or legs.

Thank you for the Tips. They helped me out for both test.

For A&P1 quizlet and YouTube were my friend! If you keep looking at each system over and over again you will retain the information. Good Luck :)

I used to record lectures on my Sony recorder, that worked very well on me! Except for the slides and my notes, another thing was simply reading the chapters, and having to do chunks of work everyday--like pieces of questions for practice. Although I never tried, I think flash cards would be great especially for anatomy.
