Unique question......
has anybody out there done Excelsior for their RN and then WGU for BSN/MSN after having done anatomy & physiology and microbiology at Excelsior?
A&P and Micro are done via testing (like most of the nursing program at Excelsior), and really didn't have a lab component. I am wondering if/how these would transfer to WGU.
I suspect I would have to retake some amount (or all) of these to satisfy the lab component. Anybody have any experience with this particular situation?

Actually, I graduated from Excelsior in 2004 and started the RN-MSN program with WGU last October. I took both the A&P and Micro exams through Excelsior. Both courses transferred but I had to take the lab component for A&P with WGU which I thought was incredibly time consuming, but I got through it. I do not have to take a lab component for Micro. Hope that answers your question.
Thanks so much, that answers my question exactly!
I have an update on this info, in case anybody stumbles across this thread. In speaking with my WGU admissions rep, I was told that both Micro and A&P 1&2 would all have to be retaken completely since my labs were missing, and they do not separate out the lab portions. I was sorry to hear this, as it will add around ten more credits that I wasn't expecting. So, now we know.
Since I wrote this previous comment, I have gotten my official transcript evaluation. So, here is the final answer on this question currently. I have to take the full microbiology class and microbiology lab, as the lab "can't be taken alone." I do NOT have to take A&P 1 as they counted my Excelsior A&P hours towards this. However, I have to take the second A&P with the lab attached, because, again, "labs can't be taken alone." So, my excelsior microbiology got me nothing with WGU, and my Excelsior A&P got me out of 1 of the 2 A&P classes at WGU (but also still have to take the lab).
A previous poster on this thread indicated they only had to take the A&P lab and did not have to do anything with Micro in this situation. Perhaps the rules have recently changed????

It sounds like they have changed. I started the WGU program 10-1-12 and they transferred my Micro credits from Excelsior without needing the lab component. I did have to take A&P lab through WGU.

I am starting WGU on June 1 and am in the same boat. I did, however, have an anatomy class WITH lab as well as taking a/p from excelsior. Trying to find a catalog that proved it had a lab is challenging, but hopefully I can do it. I also took the micro test from excelsior. I am hopeful that I will at least get credit for a/p! :)
