I used to work there through a nursing agency, and I really enjoyed the hospital and the staff on the ICU and Cardiac/Tele floors I was on. I found staff helpful and felt that I wasn't just an agency nurse to the regular staff. It got so I was "asked" for by the nurse unit managers if they needed someone to fill in.
I do not have any idea what the wages are, but I did hear a few new grads talking about what they started at and the amount I over heard would indeed be an adequate living wage. Sorry I can't give you an exact wage range.

New grad wages are $19.75/hr. I don't know about differentials, though. There are a couple of RN's in my Micro class that work there; I'll ask them for more info. for you.

Nurse Re: Cheyenne nurses?
Hi all...I currently work as an RN at UMC on the surgical floor. Starting wages for a brand new grad run at about $19.75/hr. Differentials are 8% of your base rate for time worked between 3-11 pm and 12% of your base rate for time worked 11p-7a. You also tend to make raises fairly often (at least annually) in my experience. If I can be of any more help, just ask!

Hi - nice to hear a question about Cheyenne. I start in July at UMC - the $20.50 is for graduate nurses and goes to about $22.50 when you get your RN. Also they have options for relocation/recruitment bonus and education bonus for associate degree. The reimbursement for RN/BSN is very good and the training looks great. I am in the "Critical Care Pathway" which is ICU, Tele, PACU and ED, a great opportunity for a graduate nurse. Good luck and keep in touch.

Hi,
My husband and I lived in Cheyenne for three years and had to move back to Tennessee after he was laid off from his job in Fort Collins. We were here for about 2 weeks when we realized that we had made a home in Wyoming. I will be graduating next winter with my ADN and I can't wait to come back to Wyoming. I am hoping to move back in Spring 08'. Does anyone know if there are a lot of oppurtunities in Cheyenne and if the hospital there will help with relocation? I'll move back out there even if they don't but I want to move back out there asap so I'm working on my plan. It's nice to meet you all and I am looking forward to finding out more info.
