I've been a RN since 2007 (ASN) and am set to graduate from IWU with my BSN in Spring 2012. I am very interested in wound care - I always have been. What would be the best thing to do first? I know there is a certification for it, but the closest I have come to wound care is working in LTC and LTAC. I cared for a lot of different types of wounds there, and I really liked it. I've been working in an outpatient clinic for the past 3 years. How should I go about getting into wound care? We have a local wound care center...would checking into getting a job there be the best thing to do when I'm ready to make the change?
