Is there a better medical term for the slough that is non adherent? Our wound specialist calls it cheesy slough...yuck.

I believe that caseous is the 'proper" term. It means cheesy but sounds a little more professional.

i too have seen feculent vomitus, late sign in a really ugly bowel obstruction. things just sorta...back up.

Soooo many wrong terms we call it. Cheese, goo, crud, framunda, slough. Im glad someone put a correct term on it. Thanks!

In my experience, "feculent vomitus" has always been a sign of impending death...so it no longer merely grosses me out but it also scares the bajeezus out of me. =0
