best credential evaluation service

  1. 0 Hi everyone, I am foreign educated nurse currently working in Texas as RN. I am thinking of going to school for my bsn. The university i am applying for, doesn't accept the evaluation from CGFNS. I tried IERF, but the report says My 3 years education is equal to the LPN course in US. I am already an RN in texas, but I dont know why the IERF issued such report. Please please help me to find a best evaluation service which will transfer all my academic hours into US credit hours. Thank you so much in advance, I am waiting to hear from you all.

WES. They're widely accepted as well. But check the universities that you want to apply to.

Thank you so much iamnomad..I appreciate it. My friend tried this service, it didn't transfer each course fully so she had to take extra classes which were not necessary and were already completed in our country. I am afraid if that happens with me as well.

Usually the school that you're trying to get in to has their own "institution approved evaluator/evaluation services". You might want to check with their student services or office of admissions. Also, since you are trying to get into their program, it is up for them to accept, transfer or reject credits and you can't do much about it. Goodluck!

You should follow whatever the school requires. If the assessment of your education is equivalent to only that of an LPN, then you have to comply with the deficiency (e.g units of study, etc). Alternatively, if there's a mechanism to "question" the assessment, then you have to provide evidence that you are assessed as an RN by the Texas BON. Then maybe they will consider. But it's also possible that they will stick to their assessment.

I agree that it doesn't matter which service is "best" (and, by "best," you appear to mean the one that will give you the best outcome), but which one the school(s) you are applying to prefers or requires.
