by tqmqr Jan 18, '12Hello all,
I'm a current student at UWM looking to transfer into Cardinal Stritch's ADN nursing program. I wanted to know if I have a chance of getting in. I know that you have to have at least a 2.5 cumulative gpa, but are there people in the program who actually got in with just a 2.5 gpa or is that just the cut off? My gpa isn't the greatest which concerns me. I have a 2.64 currently (due to a bad first year). I'm taking the nln this Saturday and will hopefully score pretty well, I know they tell you to score above 105. Can anyone give me some advice? I'm freaking out! Thanks!

Thought that they said 3.0 was the minimum but I could be mistaken because it was awhile ago that I did it. I have a GPA of 3.7 and scored 140 composite on the NLN and was accepted even though I turned them down and stayed with MATC.
Since the NLN is required for several schools doing well on it should be your focus. I would apply and look at other options as well to hedge your bets. It was the reason I applied to Cardinal Stritch since MATC is a petition process and I wasn't guaranteed to get in.
I definitely recommend the NLN exam prep book, it helped me a lot.
Good luck!
