Southwest Technical College Fennimore, WI LPN to RN

U.S.A. Wisconsin

Published

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone out there has done the LPN to RN program at Southwest Technical College in Fennimore, WI? I live in Madison, so it is a little bit of a drive and just wanted some Pros and Cons of the school before making any decisions. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Thanks for the response!!!!

I'm very interested and will call them and see if I can email a copy of my unofficial transcript. Ill post a update

Also keep in mind that SWTC is only one of Wiscnin's 16 technical colleges, all with nearly the exact same nursing programs and all requiring the same classes. I would check out some of the others as well.

I know that some of them near the larger cities like Madison and Milwaukee have long waiting lists. I would start with the more rural colleges.

Hello PMFB-RN

Is this school regional or national accredited? I called up there and its a waitlist for the Aug 2016. I hope to get in that program since its the cheaper route and fast track.

Also, is the state lvn job friendly? If I were to attend the school, I would need to find a job to pay for housing. I would have 6 months lvn work experience and cna six yrs psych and a year of trauma level 2 exp. Thank you. I did see you work at a hospital there. Do they hire lvn's?

I spoke to *** and she was very helpful. This school seems promising for me. Thank you @PMFB-RN :)

SWTC is both regionaly accredited and NLN. No problems with acreddidation. Most LPN jobs in the area will be in nursing homes. CNA are hired in both long term care and acute care hospitals.

so i will also like to move there so the LVN to RN program, from los angeles who else is moving.

Hello! Are you moving and starting this Aug? I'm in southern california as well with a future goal to move and do the LVN-RN bridge program at SWTC in Aug 2016. I need to pass the lvn program first lol.

*UPDATE* I have spoken to an advisor last year at SWTC and she told me to follow up once I complete the A&P in the LVN program. So I just completed my A&P and passed so will be calling her tomorrow to see whats the next steps to enroll in the aug 2016 program. hopefully everything goes as plan.

I am too planning to move to wisconsin for the bridge to RN at swtc do you have more info?

yes, I submitted my online application. call up there and speak to the DON or (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) who is affiliated with the nursing program. :)

Anyone doing the parttime route for lpn to rn starting the end of August?
