Hi-

I'm a transfer student from MATC. I began their nursing program but stopped because of the quality-or lack there of I should say! I'm looking for a school that values students and properly prepares them for HESI, ATI, NCLEX etc.... I have been accepted into B&S but I'm a bit nervous. I've heard conflicting comments. I do not want to get myself into the same kind of school MATC is except for more $$. Would you reccommend this school?? Any comments from students is appreciated! Thanks

I have 2 friends that just graduated, one from MATC and the other from B&S. They both loved their respective schools. My friend talked me all up and down to go to B&S and I could not justify paying that much to go there. The school looked good and I think there is a class that just prepares you for the NCLEX. She took a practice NCLEX just before graduating in that class and did very well! The only thing she had a problem with was clinicals. This was Bayshore, by the way. What are some of the conflicts? I could ask her for you. I did not make it into the school since I did not pass the TEAS (close though!), I'm at Moraine Park right now in West Bend and love it!

Thank You for the quick response. i've heard about the NCLEX class also and it sounds nice.... just making it to the class is the problem. I'm not nervous about my ability to understand that concepts of nursing classes, I worried about the teachers and support. MATC was not good for me at all and dont want to get myself in the same situation. I would love to just go to another tech college but the petition and waitlist issue is something I dont want to deal with again! I have heard good things about moraine park tho... multiple times. Thanks again for the response and good luck @ MPTC!!

I graduated from the Bryant and Stratton Wauwatosa campus in Dec of 2010. The school does prepare you very well for the N-Clex and the pass rate is in the mid to upper 90s. I have no experience with MATC except that many of my classmates had gone there and transferred when they got frustrated with the petition process.

Like the previous poster said, my only "issue" really was with clinicals. I always ended up with a clinical in a good hospital, but some semesters I didn't know when or where my clinical would be until the semester started. It made it difficult for people to figure out job schedules and child care. However, I was thankful that they always did find a spot for everyone and I was able to graduate in 19 months.

ETA, most of the teachers were great and really on the side of the students, even when the administration didn't quite seem to understand why we had problems with the clinical situation.
