I graduated in May of 09 from this program. I had a prior bachelors degree in another field and it took me 3 years to complete the program. It will take you four years to complete if you have no college background. If you are willing to wait its the best place to go for your money. Cardinal stritch is too expensive and MATC is too unorganized.

You have about a 50% chance of making it through the program. Many people have to retake classes. The curriculum is challenging and you will have to give up your entire life to suceed. You have to be a hard worker and dedicated person to make it through the program. It doesn't matter how smart you are, its all about the time and effort you put into your studies.

Also don't expect to work full time during the program. Every second of free time you have needs to go toward studying or you wont make it. Overall the program is nice and I am just happy I made it through. I had to watch many classmates fall through the cracks which was tough. If you have what it takes to make it through the program you will definately reap the benefits as WCTC is looked at very highly by employers.

Good luck!

Wow, thanks for that great information. What would you say are the toughest classes for most students from what you saw? What class gives students the most trouble? And have you had any luck in your job search so far? Thanks for the response!

A 50% drop out rate is not very encouraging. Any reason why this is? I have a friend who is looking into different schools in this area and is considering WCTC. I thought it sounded like a wonderful program until I read that tidbit of info. Does WCTC have a more difficult program than other schools in the area, or do they just recieve a disproportinate amount of new students who are unable or unwilling to put in the time and effort it takes to succeed in nursing school? This is a second degree for my friend (single mom), so taking out more student loans for a program where she only has a 50/50 chance of graduating could be disasterous for her.
