hi i applied for RN program at Borough of Manhattan community college. Then i plan on transferring to for the RN to BSN online program. Has anybody here went to ? Do you recommend it? Does anybody here attend or attended WGU online in New York City? If not, can you attend from NYC? You think employers here in NYC would recognize and accept a BSN from WGU online program?

My BSN is from and I would highly recommend their program. I had no trouble getting into grad school or finding a good job.

I completed 's RN-to-BSN program earlier this year and very much enjoyed my experience. However, since you are in an ultra competitive employment market (NYC), perhaps an online BSN from SUNY or another local school might be viewed more favorably by local employers.

Sorry, I have to disagree with the commuter. Remember that the school is accredited which means it has to adhere to certain requirements and standards just like other RN accredited programs regardless of whether you are in NYC or on Mars.

I agree with this, but I think Commuter was referring more to name recognition by potential employers in a very tight, competitive job market.

Yes maybe you are right but I am glad online degrees are more widely accepted everywhere it is a lot better that it used to be.

Be cognizant we're referring to NYC, one of the tightest employment markets in the US. An online BSN degree from SUNY, Slippery Rock, or a local school will serve the OP more optimally because recruiters will not be able to ascertain that the degree was earned online.

In the OP's local employment market, SUNY, NYU, Columbia, Rutgers, Adelphi and other schools are viewed more favorably by hiring managers and recruiters than a virtual university such as .
