Hey guys!

I am a current ADN student. I am 20 years old and graduate from nursing school on May 8th!!!! I'm thrilled!!!!!!

None the less, I am aware that RNs are being encouraged to continue on to get their BSNs now. I had always planned to get mine, as I plan on applying to FNP school in the future (yes I've talked to ally desired NP school about and they say the school check out).

I've already called and paid the application fee and taken and passed the readiness assessment! Since you can't start until you have a license number and are employed as an RN. I am looking at starting in June or July! I don't want to stop and get "stagnant" like I feel I personally would of I didn't keep going.

Who else is graduating and planning on going to WGU for their RN to BSN or MSN programs?

For those who took this path or recently started what had been your experience thus far?

Specializes in Cardiac.

Well I recently graduated (Sept 2012), passed Boards Nov 2012, started my RN Residency Jan 14, 2013 and finish orientation April 7, 2013. I am planning to start in May 2013. I just applied today and I have requested my transcripts. Might as well keep going as I have been enrolled somewhere since July 2010 when I started out getting my LPN. I went thru Excelsior for my LPN-RN. It would be nice to be done before christmas.

Cool! I hope all goes well!!!

I graduated in June of 2011 and have worked as a nurse since Oct 2011. I started the RN-BSN program 3/1/13 and like it so far.

I have a great mentor and the classes are not that hard. Computer support people are great. The class focus isn't the same as while doing the initial RN program, so I wouldn't worry about forgetting things you'd learned in nursing school.

The only problem I've had at is with the Bursar's office.
