WGU RN-BSN 11/1/11 start

Nursing Students Western Governors

Who's starting 11/1/11. I saw there was a thread for 10/1/11, figured we could start one for November.

Had my intake interview already, my transcripts have not been evaluated yet but am feeling the pressure to pay up by the 25th. Am afraid to pay then find my eval is unacceptable. (UTA and Chamberlain are my back-ups).

Depending on what the transcript eval says, I am hoping to get the BSN within the first term.

has everyone received correspondence from their mentor yet? Just got an email from my mentor. She has scheduled me for a phone call appointment on Tuesday next week.

Pretty exciting to see activity towards getting started.

Guess we shall know more next week. Maybe I can get EWB complete before the end of next week.

Specializes in ICU, Telemetry.

Same here, email from the mentor and all future emails are going to my email, talk with her on the first, and then the race is on!

Specializes in Oncology, OR.

No email from my mentor :(

Did you check your email? All my emails have been going there. I wouldn't have seen the mentor's email if I wasn't checking that email address.

Yep been checking that email in addition to my personal one. I plan to call Monday to see what I can find out if no contact before then. I want to get started on the first!

Okay, I couldn't wait until Monday lol. The student service rep said that I may not hear from my mentor by the first day, just sometime during the first week, because mentors have a large number of students in their groups with different start dates and so it takes time to contact everyone. However, he said to continue checking email frequently for instructions because I will be able to access/complete EWB on the first even if I haven't talked with my mentor. My main concern was getting started on time so I can relax a little now!

The NP program I want to attend accepts 's degree on paper but the admin office finds the lack of GPA "strange" I refuse to apply in this academic climate with anything viewed as "strange" so I have to stay with Excelsior for my BSN. Enjoy guys. :(

Sorry you will not be joining the race.

May I ask which NP program you are referring to?

I am planning on completing the BSN and jumping right onto the Masters and then doing a post master's somewhere else.

Central Florida. The website states that as long as the BSN is CCNE accredited that it is fine but I like to try and speak with a human being and the words "I just find the lack of GPA strange" was enough for me to change direction. Besides, I am a good test taker and know that I can get at least a 3.5 at EC so there it is. Will take me longer and cost me 8k instead of 4k but my ultimate goal is NP and I'll be really ticked if my choice in BSN program blocks me from it.

Don't blame you for wanting to be sure nothing stands in your way when ready!! Sorry you won't be joining us, best of luck to you!
