i hope to start 9/1

Good luck to you, Will-b-an-RN! I started 8/1/2012 and it's working well for me so far.

Just checking in -how's everyone doing so far? Haven't seen too many posts under this thread, so we all must be busy writing and studying! I am still finishing up the research paper course, I can't stand it. I don't like having to pick apart every little thing and submit it, that's not how I write! Can't wait til it is FINISHED! My mentor is nice, tho:yeah:

I'm so glad I'm not alone! I'm doing the research paper course too and can't stand it! I've written other papers through without all this hubbub and received perfect scores. I get why we have to do this, but it isn't how I write either.

So far things are going really well and I'm super happy with my experiences thus far. I've been able to finish 12 credits and am currently working on two classes simultaneously. The research paper is a pain, but soon it will be over and I can move on...

Hey guys!!! I was able to complete 2 maths courses (QLC1 & QMC1-both objective assessments) in August! Now working on GNT1.. Writing papers per rubric..submitted my 1st paper last week-came back for revision-OUCHHHH :p My mentor Kathleen is nice. One more class-NUT1 to go & I'll add some more! Nice to connect back! Good job. I'm having a heck of a time with QLC1. Graduated from high school in 1990 and having to relearn all of this. How was the Objective Assessment? Really just want to be done with this class. Any suggestions on what I should focus on?

I did a LOT for maths because I was SCARED! I graduated High school 12 yrs ago!! I took maths first because I knew I won't be able to focus on anything else with maths in the background! I did EVERYTHING listed in the Lab! At the start of each topic, for example, trigonometry- I first did the recommended homework- even if you don't know how to answer a question - it would tell you what resources to look into! Do practice with "Show similar examples"... Learn strategies to answer tough questions- there are only a few in the entire course (even though they say you cannot LEARN maths.. You just Do It) I even googled for outside resources (YouTube?) if my brain froze from what was in front of me! Once I mastered the trigonometry homework, I took the tests listed for it- there are 2.. When you score 80% give yourself a pat on the back and move to the next topic! It took me a lot of time- I am a Fulltime student though. whenever you are stuck contact the course mentor or communities or even here! I'll try my best to explain it, hehe! YOU CAN DO IT! We all can! It's just maths ;) Good Luck

Well, Hi! everybody! So nice to hear from all of you. I'm very jealous, as you all sound like you are moving along quickly, and I feel like I'm floundering with this paper writing.:crying2: I started the Algebra, because I was so aggravated with the other class, and it wasn't too bad! Does anyone have any pointers on how to move ahead? For instance, I was told not to worry about the Alegbra preassessment until I finished all the modules! Should I take it now, and see if I really need to go thru them all? Also, my mentor set up my classes for me, is that common practice? I know that I needed to learn the APA style, but with PERRLA's help, I think I may have been able to pull off some other classes first. Any ideas from you all would be great. Hopefully we can continue to check in with each other:D

My mentor told me to take a preassessment exam right away when she signed me up for the class so I could gauge my level. Then when I requested to take the final I also requested they open up a second preassessment for me to do. I liked doing the first one to see the areas I really needed to focus. I think it is ultimately up to you.

My mentor also set me up with my first four classes, but gave me the final decision. Earlier this month I requested two classes to be added and she did that right away no problem. I trust my mentor as she's done this before and I haven't. :)

I love my PERRLA, but even it has made some errors! Best money I've spent in a long time though, well except for ...lol. The first class I finished was biochem. I didn't have to write papers, but the Powerpoints needed references in APA format and PERRLA was a Godsend! Then I did Nursing roles, and I was okay with all my references and sources. So yeah, I definitely think you could rock a few papers. Even using the PERRLA software I'm still learning a lot about APA because things pop up that PERRLA can't cover.

The English class is sooo above what you do for your nursing papers! The annotated bibliography, yuck. No submitting outlines and all that jazz either.

Thanks RN*mommy for your awesome response! I am almost finished with the research paper, and will be going back to the Algebra. I didn't know that I could take the preassessment without going through all the modules. I really just thought this whole process would be quicker, you know? I am going to try to knock out one of the nursing courses while I'm working on the Algebra. At the beginning, my mentor basically told me what classes she was signing me up for, so I really didn't have too much input. I figured that she knew best. When she calls this week, I'm going to bring up all the info that I've learned from you and everyone else on here. All of you are great:yelclap:

Keep up the good work, you sound like you're doing fantastic!

Hi everyone! I have finished 2 classes so far, NVT2 and QLC1. I hope to be done with QMC1 within the next 2 weeks. Things are going great! My mentor is really nice as well. Glad to see everyone is doing ok so far. :)

Thanks! but no 9/1 start for me, still waiting on transcript eval, hoping for 10/1 now.
